I have recently joined the faculty at the University of Santa Clara in the
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department.  I wish to
introduce some courses in the Theory of Computation.  The department would
like to offer a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with emphasis
in theory.  They currently offer the MSCS with emphasis in either hardware or 
software.  I have been asked to develop the new program. I need help.

The "core" of the theory option is to consist of four two-unit courses.
Please, let me know what courses you consider central to the study of the
Mathematical Theory of Computation. I have enclosed a self-addressed, stamped
envelope for your convenience.
